自炊によって、本の売り上げが下がるというようなこともなく、むしろ、自炊をするためには読者は本を買わなくてはいけません。

自炊代行業者の影響で紙の本の売り上げが下がったということを示すデータは、今の所、ひとつもありません。
裁断された本がネットで販売されている例もあり、今回の訴訟でも裁断された本を積んで、「こんなことが行なわれているんですよ」と記者会見を行なったようですが、中古品の販売は合法ですし、それを言い出すと、ブックオフの株主には出版社もいます。
中古販売を行なっている者が、他の中古販売を行なっている個人を断罪するなど、いじめに過ぎません。”
